La Jolla Shores
Located at 8200 Camino del Oro, a short drive from La Valencia, the Shores is approximately one mile of sandy beach with some of the most gentle waves in all
of San Diego. Many novice scuba classes are held at the Shores; the area includes a grassy park ideal for picnicking and an assortment of delightful
restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Windansea Beach
Situated between Pacific Beach and La Jolla, Windansea is a rocky shore known best for is beautiful scenery and surf breaks created by underwater reefs.
Sandstone rocks create a perfect area for sunbathing; however, due to the rocky shore and popular surf breaks, swimming and surfing can become quite
crowded and challenging for the novice.
Children's Pool
The Children's Pool (850 Coast Boulevard), originally known as the Casa, is a small picturesque beach with a panoramic view. Originally intended as a
fully protected swimming area, sand has filled in much of the area inside the wall and is now a haven for sunbathing seals. You can venture out across
the seawall, watching seals as they sunbathe or play in the surf; the area is usually closed to swimmers due to the seals.

Mount Soledad Memorial Park

The Bishops School
Founded in 1909, the Bishops School was founded by noted philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps and designed by renowned architect Irving Gill, responsible
